Wow…. what a monumental year 2013 has been and we couldn’t have done it without all your amazing help!
This year you’ve helped us build more schools than ever before in Southern Uganda, which means more children have access to an education, pretty incredible huh?
You’ve helped us finish one of the Uganda’s biggest Kindergartens for over 300 students, opened boy’s and girl’s dormitories for more than 400 students in Mannya Village, get 53 students to University and more than double our adult education classes in Uganda!
Your support has empowered people who need it most and given them a huge start in life, we can’t thank you enough! Give yourself a big pat on the back.
In 2013 we partnered with the Global Poverty Project and took part in the Global Citizen Festival, where 60,000 people attended and took action to end extreme poverty in this generation. We’re well on the way to achieving our goal of educating 20,000 people by 2020!
Our Mission for a Million helped raise $1 million for a new health hub in Southern Uganda, which provides better health care for over 100,000 people. We’ve tested 800 Southern Ugandans for HIV/AIDS.
We launched Follow your Dollar, where customers can see the difference their contribution has made. Kate was lucky enough to win our Follow your Dollar competition and she is the first customer to head over to Uganda and see firsthand the difference her and your purchases make. Watch our website to keep up to date with Kate's Uganda experience.
In news Down Under, there has been a lot going on in Australia for 2013!
In partnership with Headspace, the Fifth Army reached over 10,000 young Australians this year. Thank you for spreading the message of reducing stigma and raising awareness around mental health. Don’t forget to rally the troupes and enlist online in March 2014
We were very excited to add two new site locations to our Run Australia family, bringing it to a total of four sites for 2013 nationally! We had 21,898 participants running, walking and rolling through the streets of Ballarat, Wollongong, Newcastle and Geelong, raising a whopping $963,083! 100% of all registrations went to the development of the youth health facility in these local areas. Talk about pounding the pavement for a good cause, thank you so much for getting involved! There will be some new additions to the family in 2014, so make sure to check out the Run Australia Websiteand follow us on Facebook to keep up to date!
So as you can see it’s been a big year for the Cotton On Foundation. None of this could have been possible without the help of our loyal customers, staff and partners. So a BIG THANK YOU for helping us to achieve these wonderful results! We can’t wait to see what 2014 brings :)
