For the next two weeks we need your help, to raise $80k and help our littlest students in Southern Uganda receive a quality education. This means providing preschoolers between the ages of three and five with the tools they need to prepare for primary school.
Uganda has a population of nearly 35 million people, and an estimated 49.9% are between the ages of 0-14 years. Despite these statistics, only 9% of preschool aged children have access to early childhood education* – and we want to change this!
When you purchase a Cotton On Foundation product in any one of our Cotton On Kids stores over the next couple of weeks, you will be helping to provide much needed professional development programs, tools and training for preschool teachers in Southern Ugandan communities.
This is Teacher Stella and she teaches top class (the oldest students) at Mannya Kinder. When she was young she always pictured herself being a teacher, and she believes every child deserves love. What she loves most about being a kinder teacher is seeing young children learn their first skills in reading and writing.Stella has two children of her own, and the income she earns goes straight to the cost of living for her children (including school fees), herself and some of her family members. She takes a lot of pride in teaching, especially in starting a small child on their journey of education. According to Stella, you gain as much as you give as a kinder teacher.
